God's Will Toward Men
Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people Luke 2:10.
A little over two thousand years ago at the birth of Jesus a multitude of angels serenaded the shepherds with "season's greetings". "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!". God was saying through the angels “Hey humanity, I’m in a good mood and want nothing but good for you”. His goodwill towards us should be unquestioned. Jesus, as God’s expressed image, went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil (Act 10:38). Christmas time would be a good time to settle the central issue of trusting God; that He is good all the time. In Jesus Christ God gave us His best gift - Himself. My prayer is that we would understand how extremely favored we are and rejoice in this special season with the great joy the angel proclaimed to all people.
