Secure in Him

Ps 23:5 You prepare a table (banquet) before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.

If you know some of the amazing history of the Bible, it is not to great a stretch to consider it a banquet prepared and preserved for us by the Lord. In the context of Middle Eastern hospitality, a banquet guest knows he is guaranteed security. One commentator explains, “All the hallowed sanctions of hospitality gather around him for his defense. He is taken into the tent, food is placed before him, while his evaded pursuers stand frowningly at the door.”  With the news peddling  “pandemic” fears we need to be armed with the double edged sword of “it is written” and “the proceeding word” that Jesus used on the devil in Mathew 4:4 and Luke 4:4.  Respond to Coronavirus news with pragmatism and Psalm 91:1-3. Whoever remains under the protection of the Almighty, can say to Him, “You are my defender and protector. You are my God; in You I trust.” He will keep you safe from all hidden dangers and from all deadly diseases.
